Beginning in fall 2011, Marymount University will partner with Arlington-based office furniture design and sales firm Washington Workplace to offer new opportunities to rising seniors working toward a degree in Interior Design.

Washington Workplace is the second business to join the Partnership with Marymount program, an initiative through which local firms support the University and its students.  This partnership will provide scholarship support and career-builiding opportunities for Interior Design majors and allow a selected student to attend national interior design trade shows, visit Washington Workplace vendor factories, and tour furniture showrooms.  In addition, members of the Washington Workplace team will share their expertise as guest speakers in MU classes.

John Murphy, president of Washington Workplace, is happy to support the students and faculty of Marymount University's Interior Design Department.  He observes, "In our industry, we need talented and committed designers.  Marymount does a great job educating them."
